Federal Court Bars NYC Regulation of Crisis Pregnancy Centers

Back in March, the New York City Council passed a law to protect women from so-called “crisis pregnancy centers”—faith based centers that claim to offer a wide range of support and information for women facing unplanned pregnancies, but that really just do everything they can to keep women from getting abortions. Everything, right down to lying to them. Yesterday, a Federal Court ruled that the law, which NYC framed as “consumer protection,” was unconstitutional, barring its implementation.
